In an announcement, Netflix revealed the release date for the animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. In addition, a new teaser for the series has been released. Check it out below and add one more reason to count down the days until October.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft
The Legend of Lara Croft stars Hayley Atwell as the titular explorer. Also appearing in the series will be Allen Maldonado as Zip. In addition, Earl Baylon will reprise the role of Jonah Maiva, a character he originated in the video game.

The Legend of Lara Croft is an animated adaptation of the Tomb Raider video game series. Making its debut in 1996, the series has since expanded to more than 20 titles. The animated series is specifically set after the events of the Tomb Raider: Survivor video game trilogy. This includes the games Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2018).
The video game has previously been adapted to the silver screen on multiple occasions. The role of Croft was played by Angelina Jolie in 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and 2003’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life. Then, in 2018’s Tomb Raider, the role was played by Alicia Vikander. Meanwhile, Atwell has previously played the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Agent Peggy Carter in both live-action (Captain America: The First Avenger, Agent Carter, etc) and animation (What If…?).
