We are just a few weeks from the release of Mike Flanagan‘s next epic horror project, The Midnight Club. The Netflix series is an adaptation based on the novels by Christopher Pike and follows a group of teenagers who form a club while living out the end of their days in hospice. It will consist of 10 one-house episodes packed to the brim with mystery, suspense and horror.
The Midnight Club‘s terminally ill teens will be played by Iman Benson, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Annarah Shepard, William Chris Sumpter, Adia and Aya Furukawa. They are living at Brighcliffe Manor in 1994. To help deal with the idea of their inevitable deaths, they join together to create a fun club to help pass the time. Eventually, they make a pact that the first to die will do everything possible to contact their living friends and vice versa.
Netflix has finally dropped the full-length trailer for The Midnight Club, and it’s everything we have been hoping for. Flanagan is known for spinning mysterious horror stories with twists and turns. Look at all he has done with The Haunting and Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass. The trailer gives the more intense side of scary YA novels that we loved as kids. There is something about the realistic horror of knowing that all life eventually comes to an end mixed in with the supernatural horrors clearly taking place at Brightcliffe Manor.
The Midnight Club will premiere on Netflix starting October 7, 2022. Check out the new trailer and images below. Are you excited to dive into this mysterious horror adventure? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
