Netflix and Anthony and Joe Russo have been pretty tight-lipped about their upcoming film adaptation of Mark Greaney‘s book series The Gray Man. The screenplay was co-written by Joe Russo, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and will bring this action thriller to life. And today, we were gifted our first look images and a release date!

The Gray Man stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Dhanush, Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard, Regé-Jean Page, Julia Butters, Eme Ikuakor and Scott Haze. The first look images give us a peek at Gosling, Evans (with a magnificent stache), de Armas and Page in action. The story follows a freelance assassin and former CIA operative named Court Gentry (Gosling) aka Sierra Six. He was recruited from a federal penitentiary by his handler Donald Fitzroy (Thornton).

However, the tables turn when Gentry uncovers some dark secrets kicking off a global manhunt led by former cohort Llyod Hansen (Evans). But Gentry isn’t alone. He has Agent Dani Miranda (de Armas) watching his back and it looks like he is really going to need it. The bits of action we saw from the pseudo trailer that announced all of Netflix’s upcoming films and these images we were gifted today are getting us excited to dive into this story.

Netflix also shared that The Gray Man will be released in theaters on July 15, 2022, and then be available to stream on the app on July 22, 2022. From everything we have seen, this looks like a film worthy of enjoying on the big screen. We’ve shared the exciting new photos below! Will you be watching this on the big screen?
