Prepare for every fan of Leigh Bardugo and Netflix’s Shadow and Bone to instantly set up countdowns. The team took to Twitter today to reward us for waiting patiently with the release date for season two and nine new images to get us excited for the next leg of this epic fantasy adventure. Prepare to swoon because they didn’t hold back.

If you are new to this tale, we highly suggest checking out season one of Shadow and Bone on Netflix. But the short gist is that Alina Stakov (Jessie Mei Li) finds herself as more than just a mapmaker while trying to cross through the dark and terrifying Fold. This sets off a chain of events that could make or break the world. Insert the dark and secretive General Kirigan (Ben Barnes), who tries to help her hone her powers, an old friend, Malyen (Archie Renaux), who just wants to protect her and three very skilled crows, Kaz Brekker (Freddy Carter), Jesper Fahey (Kit Young) and Inej Ghafa (Amita Suman) who are tasked with kidnapping her. Oh, and don’t forget everyone’s favorite support goat Milo.

It’s an adventure of epic proportions as Alina tries to uncover who she is, what she can do and who she can trust. And that’s just her storyline. Bardugo and Netflix have successfully married together her two series, Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows, to give us everything we love within the Grishaverse. Season two picks up as Alina and Mal attempt to start anew after the events of season one, and the Crows set off on their own adventure. We aren’t entirely too sure what is going to happen. Still, with the addition of Lewis Tan as Tolya, Anna Leong Brophy as Tamar, Jack Wolfe as Wylan and Patrick Gibson as Nikolai, we are beyond excited.

The first of the nine new images for season two of Shadow and Bone shows Mal and Alina aboard another ship looking a tad bit happier. The second (and one of my favorite) show off five of our six Crows. With Wylan and Nina (Danielle Galligan) present, we can’t help to wonder if this is tied into something with Matthias (Calahan Skogman). The third image (and my absolute favorite) features what looks to be a private moment between Kaz and Inej. We see you, Netflix; we know what you’re doing. Next, we see our favorite bro Matthias. He looks to be in jail and gearing up for a fight.

But that isn’t all. We also have a new gruesome shot of General Kirigan and his new scars, along with another shot of Mal and Alina inside the boat with who we assume to be Nikolai sitting with his back to us at a table. We’ve got a new shot of the twins, Tolya and Tamar, who look utterly badass. And finally, we get a new shot of Wylan and Jesper, who will be spending quite a bit of time working alongside each other in Shadow and Bone season two. Seriously, all of these images have us on the edge of our seats!
