If someone tells you that there is too much Resident Evil content in the world. Move on. Get better friends. In fact, be my friend. There could never be too much, and Netflix has just given us our first look at even more. The first teaser for their upcoming live-action series Resident Evil dropped today, along with the release date. This is a new story set within Capcom‘s terrifying world full of zombies, bad guys and tyrants.
The teaser for Resident Evil opens just like any other one would. Happy people are moving into a happy town, and all is well in the world. We get our first look at Jade and Billie Wesker moving into New Raccoon City alongside Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick) working in the lab. It is even set to a happy little tune. Why? To lull us into a false sense of security. This isn’t a happy tale. Oh no. Not even close.

The second half of the Resident Evil teaser gives us what we expect to see within this world. It is pure terror as an older Jade awakes in 2036 London, surrounded by death and destruction. And zombies. Tons of zombies. A chainsaw-wielding Jade. Mutated dogs. And in a “blink and you might miss it” moment, we even get to see a licker take someone out. Hopefully, we will get more than one in this series. But either way, the second half of this teaser is stacked with everything we want.
Netflix’s Resident Evil is told over two storylines. The first taking place in the past during Jade and Billie’s time in New Raccoon City. The second is the 2036 timeline after Umbrella Corp has single-handedly wiped out a chunk of the human population. Jade is haunted by her father’s connection with Umbrella, the monsters lurking in the dark and the mystery behind her sister’s disappearance. All things that make up a great series and an even better Resident Evil series.
Alongside Reddick, Resident Evil stars Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Paola Nuñez. We will also be seeing Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti and Turlough Convery.
The best part about this announcement? Resident Evil is set to hit Netflix starting July 14, 2022! That means we have a little over two months before we can binge this series! Check out the full teaser below. And promise us that you won’t drink out of anything with an Umbrella logo. Please? What are your thoughts so far?
