Get ready to return to Raccoon City! Netflix has dropped three new posters for their upcoming live-action series Resident Evil. And guys, we love that zombie-infested world and just can’t seem to get enough of it. This is the second series to come to the streamer following last year’s Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. Their partnership with Capcom seems to be giving us everything we have been waiting for.
The live-action Resident Evil series will feature a brand new story that takes place over two timelines. The first is when 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker move to New Raccoon City. Its a manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. Talk about a teenage nightmare. It becomes apparent to them that this town and the Umbrella Corporation are concealing some dark secrets that could destroy the world.

The second timeline in Resident Evil skips ahead well over a decade with a much smaller human population thanks to Umbrella Corp. This new world is filled with blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. Because why wouldn’t it be? The story follows Jade Wesker, who is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City and her father’s connections to the Umbrella Corporation. But worse than zombies and dads with horrifying secrets is the mystery of what happened to Jade’s sister.
That’s it. That is all we know about what we can expect for Resident Evil. Regardless, we are beyond excited to dive into this series. We know that it will include zombies, the Wesker family, tons of secrets and eight one-hour episodes. And, the posters give us another hint like the T-Virus tube and a pill that has “joy” written on it. Was the Umbrella Corp poisoning the people of New Raccoon City with a happy pill? Is that how they spread the T-Virus in this series?
Resident Evil will star Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker alongside Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Paola Nuñez. We will also be seeing Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti and Turlough Convery.
And finally, the best news we have gotten surrounding the Resident Evil series is that it is set to hit Netflix on July 14, 2022! This means we are just a few months away from another zombie apocalypse! Need something to hold you over? Check out RE: Infinite Darkness. You can watch all four episodes here on Netflix.
