Netflix has renewed 3 Body Problem for more episodes. However, the number of seasons and episodes for which the series was renewed has yet to be revealed. The sci-fi drama series was adapted by Alexander Woo and Game of Thrones co-creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, announced the renewal during the Netflix Upfront presentation yesterday in New York City.
3 Body Problem
3 Body Problem is based on the Remembrance of Earth’s Past prose trilogy by Cixin Liu, including the first book, The Three-Body Problem. The trilogy follows humanity as they make first contact with the Trisolarians. However, the situation is further complicated by the fact that the extraterrestrials plan to invade Earth. But a 400-year spaceship trip between Trisolaris and Earth complicates the situation.

The Netflix series’ star-studded cast features some big names you’re sure to recognize. These include Rosalind Chao, Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Liam Cunningham, Eiza González, Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Zine Tseng, Saamer Usmani, Benedict Wong and Jonathan Pryce. However, it’s worth noting that several of the characters died over the course of the first season. Nevertheless, some of those actors could return in flashbacks, dream sequences or virtual realities in subsequent seasons of 3 Body Problem.
Sadly we don’t know how long we’ll have to wait for more 3 Body Problem. Fortunately, in the meantime, you can enjoy a new audiobook version of The Three-Body Problem, read by Netflix series star Chao.
