Get ready to be transported back to the 1930s! Netflix released a slew of first look stills for David Fincher‘s glamorous Mank on Saturday, Deadline reports. This marks Fincher’s first feature outing since Gone Girl (2014).

Mank tells the story of Citizen Kane co-writer Herman J. Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman) on his tumultuous path to developing one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces of all time. Actor Tom Burke will portray another quite popular scribe you may know — Orson Welles. The film will follow Mankiewicz as he attempts to hand off the Citizen Kane screenplay to Welles.

Now, the released photos are in a soft-focused black and white. They convey the signature glitzy style we’ve come to associate with the Golden Age of Hollywood. Lily Collins and Amanda Seyfried are also billed as leads for Mank alongside Oldman. Collins and Seyfried will be playing Rita Alexander and Marion Davies, respectively. The real-life Rita Alexander had an uncredited role as a secretary in Citizen Kane.

Additionally, September 5th is the 79th anniversary of Citizen Kane‘s theatrical release. Terrific marketing on Netflix’s part. As for the stills — color me intrigued. While Gone Girl felt too dismal for the sake of being dismal, I’ve enjoyed Fincher’s other works. He’s proven himself to be an immensely capable filmmaker with a penchant for unique storytelling. Not to mention, Oldman is a fantastic performer. I loved Burke in The Musketeers, and I’m shocked it took me this long to note the striking resemblance between him and Welles.

Below, you can take a peek at the first look photos for Mank. Fincher’s latest film foray stars Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Tom Burke, Arliss HowardTom PelphreySam Troughton, and Tuppence Middleton. In addition, Ferdinand KingsleyJoseph CrossJamie McShaneToby Leonard MooreMonika Gossmann, and Charles Dance will round out the cast. Expect Mank to glamorize our screens this fall on Netflix and as a limited theatrical release.
