Forgot all the other vampires. There’s only one real vampire. The one who started it all. The new Netflix series Dracula is set to premiere this weekend and we have the final trailer that will send chills up and down your spine.
The series has already aired on BBC One in a three episode mini-series. The finale airs tonight in the UK. The show is based on Bram Stoker‘s horror novel Dracula, but don’t expect this to be anything like what you’ve seen before.
Fans may be expecting this series to be a lot like the 1992 film, starring Gary Oldman and Keanu Reeves. While there may be some similarities, viewers should go in without any expectations. In fact, this series may be better. Definitely more gruesome. You can thank Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss for that. The Sherlock creators delve into darkness for this one.
The final trailer begins with blood. Blood is everything you need to learn the truth according to the vampire. We get glimpses of the charismatic Dracula played by Claes Bang. Funny, he doesn’t look like a monster. Jonathan Harker (John Heffernan) knows otherwise.
Sister Agatha Van Helsing (Dolly Wells) interviews Harker about the time he spent with Dracula. Harker can only describe Dracula as “the devil himself.” It’s clear that Dracula put Harker through much torture. Sister Agatha has an army of stake carrying nuns who are out to discover what Dracula truly fears. Can they get to the monster before he claims his next victim? Probably not.
Dracula premieres on Netflix on Saturday, January 4, 2020. What a way to start the New Year! Check out the trailer below.
