Are you kidding me?!? Netflix is amazing! I’m beside myself. The announcement came out today that they will be making a The Dark Crystal prequel series! They also released an awesome making-of teaser for the series. The 10-episode series will be entitled The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. YES!!!
Jim Henson fans, fantasy fans, fans of all things good must celebrate tonight. The Henson Shop will be building a whole new set of Gelflings and Skeksis. And, presumably, we’ll meet some new creatures. There’d better be an ancestor of Fizgig in there, I’m just saying. The conceptual designer on the original The Dark Crystal, Brian Froud, co-created the creatures for the series. So, they’re going straight to the source. This is only good news.

The teaser shows us some of the processes that the designers and builders at the Henson Shop are going through, as well as original art work for the film and Henson himself talking about his passion for the project. This is so cool. I can’t even stand it.
