Send it to the internet! Netflix unveiled a fresh batch of photos teasing what’s to come for Cobra KaiSeason 5 and news of a character’s return to The Karate Kiduniverse.
Here’s the synopsis for Season 5 per Netflix Media:
“Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his ‘No Mercy’ style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.”
We know Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) will rejoin the karate fray to assist Daniel (Ralph Macchio) with dethroning the nefarious Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith). Meanwhile, Johnny (William Zabka) will trek to Mexico to retrieve Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) after the latter departs California in search of his biological father.
As for newcomers, Alicia Hannah-Kim will step into Silver’s dojo as Kim Da-Eun, a formidable addition to the sensei’s growing army of skilled fighters.
So, who’s reprising their role, you might ask? None other than Sean Kanan. Kanan portrayed Mike Barnes, who Silver hired to terrorize Daniel in The Karate Kid Part III. My guess is Barnes will return to join forces with Silver, as the latter’s in dire need of an ally after sending John Kreese (Martin Kove) to jail for his (Silver’s) crime.
Prepare to re-enter the drama-filled dojo when Cobra Kai graces the stage for Season 5 on September 9, 2022, on Netflix. Take a peek at the new photos below, and let us know your theories in the comments!
