The Queen is coming back! And not just to the second season of Bridgerton, she is getting her own series! Netflix took to Twitter today to share that Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) will be getting her own series. This spin-off will take us back even further in time and feature a younger Queen, Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) and Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh).
We don’t know if Rosheuvel, Gemmell and Andoh will appear as themselves as flash-forwards in the series. It would be cool, though, if they find a way to add them into the series. But the real question is, who will they cast into the younger roles. But that isn’t all! We have to think about who will be cast in other roles as well. Julia Quinn actually has a series focused on the previous generation of Bridgertons. We need to know who is going to play Edmund, his siblings and their spouses.
If you haven’t read the previous novels, I suggest doing so! The stories may actually never coincide, but just in case. Plus, they are amazing. We will definitely be keeping a close eye on things going forward and we can’t wait to see what is up Shonda Rhimes and Chris Van Dusen‘s sleeves! Oh, and may I make a small suggestion? Ben Barnes for Edmund! I know he is super busy with Shadow and Bone, but my heart is set on this.
What are your thoughts on a prequel spin-off series for Bridgerton? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
