The series is executive produced by Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and showrunner Allan Heinberg. The graphic novel was first published by DC comics 32 years ago. When introducing the first look at the series, Gaiman said the “decades-long gestation” for the series was “a bit of a blessing,” allowing him to ensure the series was “true to the comics.”
“What astounded me through this process was how often it felt like I was walking around inside the comics. Everything from the sense to the costumes to the effects felt it had been plucked from my imagination.” – Neil Gaiman, TUDUM
Gwendoline Christie also stars as Lucifer, with David Thewlis, Boyd Holbrook, Vivienne Acheampong, Sanjeev Bhaskar, and Asim Chaudhry. Check out the first look and character posters below.
A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.
