Highlights

  • A spinoff series to Prime Video hit Reacher is in production, and we’ve learned the names and characters of five actors on the show, now officially titled Neagley.
  • Joining Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley are Greyston Holt, Jasper Jones, Adeline Rudolph, Matthew Del Negro and Damon Herriman.
  • While Reacher seasons are each based on a specific Lee Child novel, Neagley will be wholly original scripts. Lee Child serves as an executive producer on the new series.

Prime Video’s Neagley

The official Prime Video logline for the series reads, “Frances Neagley is a private investigator in Chicago. When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice. Using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.”

Some of us believe that Maria Sten could single-handedly anchor a hit spinoff series based on her Frances Neagley character from the Reacher series. Still, it’s probably a sensible call to have her have some buddies and interesting adversaries on-screen with her. The announcement of five series regulars scratches that itch quite well.

The New Cast Members

Nothing is known about the characters themselves, but of the five actors announced, only Jasper Jones, portraying Keno, is a relative newcomer. Greyston Holt plays Detective Hudson Riley. Holt played the recurring FBI Agent Glen Scot on Netflix’s Riverdale but might be better remembered as the problematic art professor Paulo Bonetto on The Night Agent Season 1.

Representing Justified, Damon Herriman, aka Dewey-freakin’-Crowe, appears in Neagley as Lawrence Cole. Matthew Del Negro’s character here is Pierce Woodrow. Del Negro is very familiar from his major roles in City on the HillScandal, The Sopranos and The West Wing, but most recently in Mayor of Kingstown as scary correctional officer Will Breen.

The only woman announced as a series regular to star alongside leading lady Sten is another Riverdale-adjacent regular, Adeline Rudolph. In her breakout role as Agatha Night on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, she appeared in every episode of the four-season series. On Neagley, she plays Renee.

Friends or Foes?

We have no idea what sorts of relationships these characters will have with Frances Neagley. They could help or hinder her in her search for truth. Or — as in the case of Dewey Crowe on Justified — both. If Reacher has taught us anything, it’s that people surprise you.

Since its premiere in 2022, Reacher has been a consistently massive hit. Much of that success has to do with Frances Neagley’s popularity. Until Neagley‘s ready to drop (hopefully later this year!), check out the current season of Reacher streaming on Prime Video
