Nazi Zombies Are Coming to CALL OF DUTY: WWII

It looks like some fan favorites will be returning to Call of Duty: WWII. During their livestream on Thursday, Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games announced a new co-op Nazi Zombies mode for the upcoming game.

As described in a press release, Call of Duty: WWII’s “co-operative Nazi Zombie mode unleashes a new and original story, in this next-level standalone game experience full of unexpected, adrenaline pumping moments.”

On the Call of Duty:WWII website, the new content is described as:

Players will embark on a chilling, dark and mysterious journey through a snowy Bavarian village in Mittelburg, Germany, as they attempt to recover priceless works of art stolen by the Axis powers in World War II. This village holds a shadowy secret key to an unimaginable and monstrous power.  Beware of the twisted fate and dire consequences from the occult horrors awaiting any visitors.

As part of the mission, players will assume the role of one of four characters. There is engineer and tactician Marie Fischer (Katheryn Winnick, Vikings), former art thief Drostan Hynd (David Tennant, Doctor Who), former art historian Olivia Durant (Elodie Yung, Daredevil) and the educated military man Jefferson Potts (Ving Rhames, Mission: Impossible movies).

This will not be the first time that Call of Duty has had zombies in their games. It originated with developer Treyarch and their work on the Call of Duty franchise. Nazi Zombies first appeared in Call of Duty: World at War, which was released in November 2008. It became so popular with the fans that the zombies were added in Call of Duty: Black Ops (released in November 2010), Call of Duty: Black Ops II (released in November 2012) and Call of Duty: Black Ops III (released in November 2015).

Even if you are not a fan of zombie games, you have to admit that shooting Nazi Zombies could be an enjoyable experience. I mean, who really ever passes an opportunity to shoot Nazi Zombies? Other than other Nazi Zombies, I suppose.

The new content will be a part of the Call of Duty: WWII release on November 3, 2017. The game will be available for PlayStation, Xbox One and Windows PC. As a PlayStation exclusive, if you pre-order now you will get access to the private beta. You can watch the reveal trailer below and check out some of the screenshots in the Gallery.
