Your favorite video game workplace comedy will continue for more shenanigans! As reported by Deadline, Apple TV Plus has renewed Rob McElhenney‘s Mythic Quest for Season Three and Season Four! Praise Be to Ian Grimm!
Also created by Charlie Day and Megan Ganz, Mythic Quest follows Ian Grimm (McElhenney), the co-creative director and owner of a mega-successful video game studio. Ian grapples with keeping his overwhelming ego in check while ensuring his game overcomes the competition. Of course, there’s his dysfunctional staff to contend with, including his equally competitive co-creative director, Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicdao).

Season Two, which concluded in June, ended on a massive cliffhanger. Ian and Poppy left the studio to start a new video game from scratch, leaving David (David Hornsby) in charge with Jo (Jessie Ennis) reinstated as his assistant. Meanwhile, Brad (Danny Pudi) willingly got arrested for insider trading (which he didn’t commit). Dana (Imani Hakim) and Rachel (Ashly Burch) departed the studio to pursue new endeavors.
Mythic Quest recently scored two Emmy nominations — Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation and Outstanding Narrator for Anthony Hopkins for the episode “Everlight.”
To commemorate the double-season renewal, Hopkins shared a video on his Twitter featuring McElhenney and Jason Sudeikis from Ted Lasso. Hopkins, a.k.a. “T-Hops” as “Suds” affectionately calls him, appears to forget he not only narrated an episode of “Mister Quest,” but that he received an Emmy nomination for it.
However, he excitedly asks Suds about guest-starring on Ted Lasso as Keeley’s new boyfriend.
The video ends with “Mister Quest” returning to Apple TV Plus in 2022 before Ted Lasso‘s third season. Ted Lasso pokes fun at McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds‘ purchase of football club Wrexham AFC, so this connection makes the announcement even funnier.
