I am so excited about this news! Mystery Science Theater 3000 was a show I can safely say I was obsessed with. I would wake up early on Saturdays, before taking off to my ballet class, and watch the latest episode. Now on NetflixMST3K has taken off in popularity, like so many other shows, it’s having a renewed life because of the online streaming service, and there is definitely a call for new episodes.

Creator Joel Hodgson has launched a Kickstarter campaign to relaunch the cult tv series, that was originally canceled in 1999! I can’t believe it’s been that long!

#BringbackMST3K has a total goal of raising $5.5 million dollars, but Joel breaks it down like this:

At already more than halfway to the first goal, the desire for more MST3K is definitely palpable and they want you to know that it’s not charity. There are rewards for your contributions and Joel did day this if they raised $1 billion:

Finally, if we raise $1 BILLION – stay with me on this one – we’re going to adopt a real live teenage boy and “Truman Show” him into believing he is the Pumaman!

That would be pretty amazing and I hope we’d all hold him to that!

Make sure you hashtag #BringBackMST3K and if you want to contribute, check out the Kickstarter here.
