Yesterday, we got our first stills from the upcoming Doctor Who series and we’re stoked. The first female Doctor ever will have companions young and “old” as she takes them on adventures through space and time. These first stills, while vague, are still fun.
In the images we see The Doctor tinkering with something that glows while her companions look on in interest and confusion. Next we have The Doctor and her companions looking at something in the distance. A new threat? A haunted building perhaps? There’s always a haunted building. And finally we have an image of the companions in shock and awe at something. What that something is, were not yet sure. But I have a feeling The Doctor is up to some sort of shenanigans that always seem to work out.

One of my favorite things about the upcoming series is, of course, that The Doctor is a woman. But I also really like that her companions are really diverse. In age, ethnicity, everything. We can rejoice that The Doctor hasn’t taken on a younger white woman again. Joking aside, I am really looking forward to seeing what Graham (Bradley Walsh) will be up to. It really gives the older generation fans someone to see themselves in. And yes to male companions! It’s been a while since we’ve seen some full time men aboard the Tardis that isn’t The Doctor.
