Gotham Sneak Peek Sees Mr. Freeze Leading the Wrath of the Villains

“Bad guys in this town are changing. We don’t know how bad it’s going to get.”

That’s how this trailer for the continuation of Fox’s hit DC Comics series, Gotham starts, along with a shot of Mr. Freeze shooting his freeze ray directly at the camera. And, from there, we see a series of shots of showing James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) on the trail of a very dangerous Victor Fries (Nathan Darrow) as he runs rampant throughout Gotham freezing all that get in his way.

The trailer ends with an interesting little phrase, “Wrath of the villains.” The first half of the season was “Rise of the villains,” but here we see it as “wrath,” leading us to believe that the villains in this second half of the season are going to be even worse than they’ve been.

In the first half, most of the villainy of the season was centered around the central big bad of Theo Galavan (James Frain) and his mission to avenge his family name with the death of Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and ownership of Gotham. With him gone, there is no centralized villainy, so it’ll be interesting to see where Mr. Freeze falls in line with Dr. Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong), The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith), who also seems to be coming in to his own this last half of the season.
