Pokemon Legends: Arceus
On the heels of their recent Pokemon franchise release, Nintendo is looking to double down with Pokemon Legends: Arceus. This is the 8th installment within the long, ongoing series but will serve as a prequel. The game is set in an era of Sinnoh that heavily resembles 19th century Japan, giving a new look and feel to the franchise. The story centers around creating Hisui’s first Pokedex and features action, role-playing gameplay style. It is a solid choice for fans of the franchise and those looking to relive their childhood nostalgia.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus will drop on January 28, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human
It’s no lie that I have been waiting for Techland’s sequel for a long time. In fact, it appeared on our 2020 Most Anticipated Games list! I instantly fell in love with the open-world parkour action survival game and the sequel looks to be just as good as the original. Dying Light 2 Stay Human takes place 20 years after the first game, where Kyle Crane unknowingly infects the world with a new strain of this zombie-creating virus. This installment looks to expand further on the world and upgrade the traversal movement, action and zombies.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human will release on February 4, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and the Nintendo Switch.
Elden Ring
Unless you have been living under a rock, chances are you have heard of Bandai Namco’s Elden Ring and the intense wait we have been suffering through. It serves as a spiritual successor to the Dark Souls series and gives players the chance to become the Elden Lord. The open-world, action role-playing game promises to be everything we have ever wanted and more. Its dark themes and tones are guaranteed to give us one epic playthrough after another. After years, the wait is finally over!
Elden Ring drops on February 25, 2022, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Horizon Forbidden West
Another highly anticipated sequel coming in 2022 is Gurriella Games’ Horizon Fordbidden West. The upcoming action-roleplaying game continues Aloy’s story and dives further into the world we have come to love. This time we are diving under the seas, lakes and rivers. Guriella Games shared that the sequel will expand on the already fantastic combat and playstyle. Plus, we can’t wait to experience what the new story will introduce and what mysteries lie ahead.
Horizon Forbidden West drops February 18, 2022, for PS4 and PS5.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
You didn’t think we would forget to add Gearbox Software’s Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands to our most anticipated video games list! With its first trailer, this chaotic action, role-playing- shooter won over our hearts. It feels like Dungeons and Dragons mixed with the incredible imagination we have come to know within the Borderlands franchise. Players can choose from six different playable classes and set off on an adventure that will have them on the edge of their seats and busting at the seams laughing. Plus, it includes the incredible voices of Ashley Burch, Andy Samberg, Will Arnett and Wanda Sykes.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands crashes down on March 25, 2022, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and the Xbox Series X.

Starfield
Starfield is the first new universe from Bethesda in over 25 years. We don’t know too much about what we can expect to find in this new universe set in space, but honestly, do we need to know more to fall in love? The teaser trailer, concept art and overall excitement are enough to carry us all the way until November. But we wouldn’t be upset if they decided to share a new trailer or two beforehand!
Starfield drops November 11, 2022, for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

A Plague Tale: Requiem
One of my favorite and most anticipated video games in 2019 was Focus Entertainment’s A Plague Tale: Innocence, so it is safe to say that the sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem, is on my list of must-play games for 2020. Amicia and Hugos’ journey continues as they travel farther south to try and find peace and protect Hugo’s curse. But unfortunately, the thing with curses is that they don’t stay hidden and their world gets turned upside down. I have high hopes that this game will be a favorite of 2022 for me.
A Plague Tale: Requiem drops sometime in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Evil Dead: The Game
I love horror games and I love Ash vs. the Evil Dead, so clearly Saber Interactive’s Evil Dead: The Game is going to be on this list. From what we have seen, it features both co-op gameplay and player versus player! Personally, I can not wait to get my hand swapped with a chainsaw and kick evil’s tush. The game is set to launch with multiple maps and weapons that fans will recognize from the franchise. Just know that I will be spending hours in this game and enjoying every minute of it.
Evil Dead: The Game is set to drop in February 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and the Nintendo Switch.

Forspoken
Last March, Luminous Productions’ Forspoken caught my eye during Square Enix’s digital showcase and solidified its place on our most anticipated video games releasing in 2022. Players take control of Frey Holland after she is transported from NYC to the fantasy world of Athia. She uncovers her own magical abilities and uses them to try and find her way home. But, like most fantasy worlds, it seems to be packed with terrifying monsters and villains with mysterious agendas. Exactly what we need in our action role-playing games.
Forspoken will release on May 25, 2022, for PC and PS5.

Gotham Knights
I love the DC games and one based around the Bat-family? Sign me up! Warner Bros Interactive Games is giving us Gotham Knights, an action role-playing game that offers players the chance to step into the shoes of either Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl or Robin as they protect Gotham City. They shared that the main story and official villain of the game will be the Court of Owls, forever solidifying this game on the list of my all-time favorites. Between this and the upcoming Batman film, 2022 is looking like a solid year for the Bat-family.
Gotham Knights will release in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
God of War: Ragnarok
Santa Monica Studio is back with the next installment to their fantastic franchise – God of War: Ragnarok. It is set to pick up after the events of God of War and follows an older Arteus. He sets out with Kratos to find answers on stopping the upcoming Ragnarok. It is packed with action, mysteries and Norse Gods. I don’t think we have had a bad game within this franchise and I am looking forward to seeing where Santa Monica Studio can take this next installment!
God of War: Ragnarok is set to drop in 2022 for PS4 and PS5.
Redfall
The final game on our most anticipated video games list is probably my most anticipated! Arkane Studios dropped the very first trailer for Redfall during E3 2021 and that was it; my heart was won. The upcoming action-adventure game is packed with kickass protagonists, vampires and tons of action. From trailers and tidbits we have gotten over the months, we know that each protagonist has their own playstyle, giving players different ways to progress through the game. I’m excited to see exactly where this game will take us and experience the vampire-slaying along the way!
Redfall will drop in 2022 for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
