  • Fans can now watch the Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns gameplay trailer for Noob Saibot. Read on for our breakdown.
  • The drop comes hot on the heels of the Sektor gameplay trailer.
  • The game will be available to play later this month.

Noob Saibot

So far, Mortal Kombat 1 fans have only seen glimpses of the khaotic version of Noob Saibot. Fortunately, NetherRealm Studios just released an official Noob Saibot gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns that shows off all of the fan-favorite character’s moves from the basics to specials.

Bi-Han Becomes Noob Saibot

In Sektor’s gameplay trailer, Sub-Zero followed Havik through a portal to the Khaos Realm. By the time the good guys catch up, Sub-Zero emerges as Noob Saibot and invites them to “Allow the Brotherhood of Khaos to help you on your way.”

Unfortunately for the good guy gang, Saibot has backup this time, including an altered version of Raiden, who steps up and charges red lightning. Saibot continues, “Those who oppose anarchy, revere Order, will be eliminated,” and encourages his enemies to embrace Khaos.

Previous trailers implied that Havik created Noob Saibot by corrupting Bi Han. In the newest trailer, this is confirmed when Sektor tells Noob Saibot that he sounds like Bi Han, and Saibot replies, “Havik filled my mind with his Khaos.”

Unknown Alliances

At one point, Liu Kang and Noob Saibot appear to be fighting back to back as Liu Kang tells Saibot that this is what he is supposed to do. Saibot explains, ” I am not allowed to desire another future. Kang replies, “Your desires are not an issue; it is your methods for achieving them.”

Then, we see the two face off against each other. Once again, it isn’t completely clear which side this character is ultimately on. It looks like there will be a lot of flipping and flopping as Liu Kang tries to convince as many warriors as possible to join his side.

Later, Noob Saibot approaches Tanya as she says, “The will of Havik will not be done.” Then, they battle it out, and we get to see Noob’s fatal blow. Lastly, Scorpion tells Saibot that his new attire suits him because it is as black as his heart. Saibot replies with an ominous threat, “Watch and learn Kuai Liang.” The scene ends with another quick glimpse of a fight, this time ending with a gruesome fatality.

All the Right Moves

By now, most fans have pieced together an idea of the Khaos Reigns story, so Noob’s moves are the focus this time. In general, Noob Saibot moves a little slower than other characters, but who needs speed when your tag team partner is a shadow clone? That’s right, fans, most of Saibot’s basic moves feature his signature shadow clone.

Noob and his shadow can trap the opponent between a rock and an abysmal hard place, bouncing them like a ball between two paddles. Of course, we also see the classic teleportation grab and slam. Almost every move is charged with either green or purple energy.

Noob Saibot’s Fatal Blow demonstrated on Tanya is pretty impressive. It begins with a slide into a backflip kick that launches the opponent into the air. Saibot then comes down hard with a Superman punch from above that sends the enemy down headfirst. Finally, right before Tanya’s head hits the ground, it is smashed in between kicks from Saibot and his shadow. A most violent demonstration of how teamwork makes the dream work.

Saibot also executes his fatality with the help of his shadow clone. The clone enters the enemy’s body and does some damage only to come out and help Noob tear them apart.

Last but not least is a quick look at Noob Saibot’s Animality which turns him into a crocodile. As he charges the enemy, a crocodile version of his clone comes from behind and it ends much like the fatality.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns releases September 24, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC. Check out the Mortal Kombat website for all preorder options and watch the trailer
