It’s been an emotional day for The Walking Dead family.  Scott Wilson, who played Hershel Green for two and a half seasons passed away Saturday night.  The Hollywood Reporter reports Wilson died of cancer. He was 76.

Hours before the news, the TWD cast at NYCC 2018 announced that Wilson will reprise his character Hershel in the upcoming season nine.  Wilson, Jon Bernthal and Sonequa Martin-Green will appear in flashbacks.  The speculation is that their characters will be seen by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as he exits the show.
