On Monday, Marvel unveiled the highly anticipated official trailer for the Oscar Isaac-led Moon Knight, and, folks, it’s a thing of beauty.
Isaac stars in the upcoming Disney Plus series as Marc Spector, a former US Marine and mercenary struggling with a dissociative identity disorder. This disorder unlocks other identities, including millionaire Steven Grant and Jake Lockley, a cab driver. Marc gains the powers of an Egyptian moon god, Khonshu, which becomes a blessing and a curse for his already troubled life.

We get a glimpse of Ethan Hawke in an undisclosed role; however, a handful of theories circulate the web regarding his part in the comic book adaptation. Screen Rant surmises he’s playing Sun King, a man with bipolar disorder who believes he’s a manifestation of Amon Ra and amasses a legion of followers. He possesses the ability of pyrokinesis.
Besides Isaac and Hawke, May Calamawy and Gaspard Ulliel also star in Moon Knight. Ulliel portrays Anton Mogart/Midnight Man.
Jeremy Slater serves as head writer for the series with episodes directed by Justin Benson, Mohamed Diab and Aaron Moorhead.
I’m excited to see Oscar Isaac take on this role. Judging by the trailer, it appears he has some meaty scenes in which he can sink his teeth. I’m hoping Moon Knight might be similar to Daredevil in its dark, brooding, bloody street style. Here’s hoping they include Marc’s biting, snarky humor.
