Modus Games announced this morning that Cris Tales has officially been delayed till 2021. It was originally meant to release on November 17, 2020. The delay will give developers Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK time to bring fans the best version and work through underlining issues. The love letter to 90s JRPG (Japanese role-playing games) will take players on a time-bending adventure to save the world.

CEO of Modus Games Christina Seelye shared, “The decision to delay was a tough one, but was made to ensure that the developers at Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK have a chance to bring the best version of Cris Tales to fans anxiously awaiting its release.” Developers from both teams shared a more in-depth conversation on the delay here. They will be hosting an upcoming AMA on Reddit and Discord on October 16, 2020, starting at 12 pm PT.

If you were looking forward to diving into Cris Tales next month, the demo is still available on Steam. It gives players a look into different aspects of the game including world exploration, combat and the time-bending mechanic. Players can also pre-order the retail version and receive a bonus game poster. There is no official release date set at this time. But hopefully, during the AMAs we will be given a better idea of the time frame.

Cris Tales will release on PC through Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia.
