PlayStation players rejoice! Bethesda announced mod and 4K support are coming to both Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4 for all PS4 models.
Skyrim Special Edition releases October 28 and will come with both features on day one. You can check out a 4K screenshot above however, as for the mods, that comes with a few caveats.
Mods on PlayStation 4 will allow you to modify and create your own content by using our Creation Kit available here. You will not be able to upload external assets with your PlayStation 4 mods, but you will be able to use any assets that come with the game, as most mods do. By creating a Bethesda.net account, you’ll be able to browse and try mods right from within the game.
Long and short of it, don’t expect to insert Blizzard characters into the world of Skyrim, or Hello Kitty into Fallout. You’ll have to work within set parameters but it’s exciting nonetheless.
Support for both feature will come later to Fallout 4, no word on exactly when. Probably once they discover and work out all the bugs flushed out by Skyrim they will transition over the Fallout. Could be a couple months, could be way longer.
