The next big Marvel series out from Netflix is Luke Cage, which lands online tomorrow. The show will see the titular hero, Luke Cage, played by Mike Colter, trying to lay low in the streets of Harlem after what happened to him in Netflix’s other series, Jessica Jones. But, of course, the streets of Harlem are not safe, and Cage is forced to come out of hiding and be a hero.

When he comes out of hiding, people start to take notice, and one of those people is police detective, Misty Knight, played by Simone Missick. While it’s unclear how closely the series will follow their story from the comics, we do now know that Detective Misty Knight has a future as she will reprise her role in the super big superhero team up series, The Defenders.

In an interview with The Wrap on a show called “Drinking with the Stars,” Missick said, “I believe I’m safe to say that I will be on ‘The Defenders.” She then went on to catch herself and joked, “Spoiler alert! If I lose my job because of this interview, sorry! I was supposed to be on ‘The Defenders,’ until I got fired.”

So, fingers crossed that she doesn’t lose her job!

Defenders will do for the Netflix heroes what The Avengers did for the Marvel Cinematic heroes and pull them all together to fight a common enemy. For those not keeping track, those heroes are Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, whom we are yet to meet.

It’s unclear what version of Misty Knight we’ll get when Defenders starts up. In the comics, Misty Knight is caught in an explosion and loses her right arm, but then has it replaced by a Stark Industries bionic arm. Whether this happens in the upcoming Luke Cage or in Defenders or absolutely never, is unclear. About the only thing we do know is that Luke Cage is a mere 24 hours away from being released and that’s far too long to wait.
