Milla Jovovich Is Our New Blood Queen in HELLBOY Reboot

More casting news, everyone! The Neil Marshall helmed reboot has its titular Queen. According to Deadline, Milla Jovovich is in final talks to join the growing cast as the Blood Queen. She joins David Harbour as Hellboy and Ian McShane as Professor Bloom.

Now we don’t know too much about the movie adaption and her role in that, but we do know her comic book origins. She was Nimue, also known as The Lady in the Lake. She lived during the time of King Arthur and greatest wizard of all time, Merlin, who taught her everything he knew. That was until she imprisoned him in a grave for all eternity. Her madness was so great that the other British witches killed her and cut her into many pieces, scattering the pieces across the world. The pieces would join back together, so they buried them within a box deep within the Earth. Needless to say, she’s a powerful enemy.

Jovovich herself is no stranger to sci-fi, having her breakthrough role as Leeloo from The Fifth Element. From there, she’s been in numerous sci-fi and action films, such as headlining the recently finished Resident Evil franchise.

It’s still a shock to me that this film is being made. But I can get on board with Jovovich in the cast. As said, we have no idea what her role will be in the film and if her origins will remain intact. But get ready for some more Hellboy!

What do you think of the casting? Are you excited for the film? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more comic movie news! Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen currently has no release date.
