Out of Hollywood Reporter, Michelle MacLaren has signed with Warner Bros., not only to direct the Wonder Woman film, but also to develop it. Rumors started a couple months ago that WB was looking to have a female director, those rumors then evolved into Michelle MacLaren, and now they are all confirmed.

She’s a name that most people may not be too familiar with, but you’ve definitely seen her work, as she’s directed episodes of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead.
It’s not fair to say that Michelle is the first female director to take on a comic book property, as Lexi Alexander directed “Punisher: War Zone” in 2008. However, this is the first big superhero film, happening in continuity, with a massive studio budget, under tremendous public scrutiny because the film/character comes with a lot of excitement and buzz. So this is a gigantic deal.
MacLaren will be directing Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, a role that will premiere in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, in 2016.
