Great Scott! Michael J. Fox imparts rapper Lil Nas X with a stern warning in a teaser for “Holiday.” The promo for the upcoming festive single features the actor as the titular protagonist, Marty McFly, from the Back to the Future franchise.

Now, in said teaser, we see Lil Nas X travel back in time to the Old West via portal. We see Santa Claus is booted out of a saloon for being too intoxicated. Lil Nas X picks up Santa’s hat and the label magically changes to “Santa Nas X.” He’s now Old Saint Nick. Or maybe Old Saint Nas is more apropos?

Next, we see Santa Nas X flying through the portal on his sleigh. Marty McFly (Fox) appears at the end to proffer a warning. “Whatever you do, Nas, don’t go to 2020,” he says. Marty is donning Western getup in the promo. The end of the clip showcases Lil Nas X’s name, “Holiday” and its release date in the same font as what’s on display in the Back to the Future trilogy.

Lil Nas X’s popularity skyrocketed to astronomical heights in 2019. First, he achieved success on TikTok. Then, in April of last year, he released a country rap remix of his single “Old Town Road” with country star Billy Ray Cyrus. The rapper became diamond certified seven months later.

Michael J. Fox solidified himself as a sci-fi icon with his role as Marty in the Back to the Future franchise. He was also in 1985’s Teen Wolf. Later, he starred in the mid-90s sitcom Spin City. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1991 at only 29 years old, but he didn’t let that deter him from having an illustrious career in the entertainment industry.

You can check out the teaser for “Holiday” with Michael J. Fox below. I agree with Fox here, Lil Nas X. Beware of the agonizing hell-scape that is 2020. You might need a DeLorean to properly navigate that time period.
