The new Men in Black reboot is going to be something of an Avengers reunion.  Thor: Ragnarok stars, Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworthare slated be brought together again to anchor the new film.  It will be directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outa Compton) and written by Iron Man writers, Matt Holloway and Art Marcum

The new Men in Black will not follow agents K (Tommy Lee Jones) and J (Will Smith).  It will introduce Thompson and Hemsworth (though Hemsworth is not locked into the deal yet) as new characters in a new story set in the world created by the first movies.  There isn’t much more known about the plot of the movie, but The Hollywood Reporter said on Wednesday that “sources say the new project is more of an ensemble piece than a two-hander and will be more global in scope.”

We’re pretty excited about this.  It is true that the former version of MiB had probably run its course.  But the universe that it was built in is rich, and ripe for new stories.  That’s not to mention that Hemsworth and Thompson have great chemistry on screen and both have incredible comic timing.

The new Men in Black is set to invade theaters on June 14, 2019.
