Only a week away from premiering on DC Universe, the new live-action series Doom Patrol is ready to go! Or… are they? DC released a 30 second teaser giving us a better look at the characters we’ll be following, some of their powers, and first look at the villain.
In the teaser, we’re introduced again to our main players. There’s Robotman (Brendan Fraser) with incredible strength and Negative Man (Matt Bomer) with the power to release negatively charged energy out of his body. Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby) has the ability to transform her body, sometimes to horrific effect, and Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) who has 64 different personalities each with a different superpower. With them is Cyborg (Joivan Wade), who you may know from a more popular team, Justice League. Together, with The Chief (Timothy Dalton), they’ll be taking a supervillain down. Are they really the best group to do that? Hell no. But they’ll try.
We also have our first look at Mr. Nobody (Alan Tudyk) who looks all sorts of creepy. In fact, Tudyk voices over this teaser, giving us a hint that this show may be just a bit meta. “More TV superheroes, just what the world needs” punctuated by an “Ugh!”. Yup, this is gonna be one interesting show! It does leave some questions to think about though. Will the group be able to band together and stop Mr. Nobody? Is The Chief going to be involved at all in what they do? Will Cyborg where anything other than track suits the whole time? We only have to wait a week to find out!
Check out the teaser below and let us know what you think! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more DC news.
