NYCC 2024: Max Will Bring Its HBO Heavy Hitters and More to New York

Highlights

  • Max is heading to NYCC with four offerings: the HBO Originals The Penguin, Dune: ProphecyandThe Franchise. Plus The Max Original Creature Commandos will also make an appearance. 
  • The panels will feature Hollywood stars and never-before-seen footage. 
  • New York Comic-Con is from October 17-20. 

Max announced its programming schedule for New York Comic-Con 2024 and it’s a good one. The lineup includes HBO Originals The Penguin, Dune: Prophecy and The Franchise. The Max Original Creature Commandos will also make an appearance. 

By the time NYCC 2024 rolls around The Penguin will be in its fifth week.  The DC Studios series continues filmmaker Matt Reeves’ epic crime saga that began with his film The Batman. Developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, the series centers on the character played by Farrell in the film.

The Dune: Prophecy outing will be the first con appearance for this highly anticipated series. Based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, Dune: Prophecy takes place millennia before the events of Dune. From the official logline: “The series takes place 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides and follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit”

The Franchise panel will appear just under two weeks after the series premiere. The series follows the crew of an unloved franchise movie fighting for their place in a savage and unruly cinematic universe. The comedy series shines a light on the secret chaos inside the world of superhero moviemaking, to ask the question — how exactly does the cinematic sausage get made? Because every f*ck-up has an origin story.

And finally, the Max Original Creature Commandos will appear at NYCC ahead of its December 5th premiere. This animated DC series tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they’re your last, worst option.
