The demon hunting supernatural detective John Constantine is joining the band on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Deadline reports that Matt Ryan has signed on as series regular for season four of the CW superhero series.
Ryan starred in the NBC Series Constantine that was cancelled after one season. Fans of the series have been very vocal about the show’s return, but NBC has not budged. Since then Ryan has reprised the role on the CW Seed, an online channel with content fans don’t get to see on broadcast television. John Constantine returned to broadcast tv first on season four of the CW’s Arrow and in the current season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
The Legends recently lost two members when Martin Stein (Victor Garber) separated himself from Firestorm and died during the latest CW Crossover event, Crisis on Earth-X. His partner Jax (Franz Drameh) went back to 2017 to live his life. That left two vacant spots on the team. Kid Flash Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) jumped from The Flash to Legends of Tomorrow to join the team this season

Constantine’s most recent appearance on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was just a few weeks ago. The team is currently dealing with a lot of magic courtesy of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and his daughter Nora (Courtney Ford), who is possessed by Mallus, the current villain of the Legends. Constantine and Sara (Caity Lotz) attempted to exorcise young Nora and were trapped in the past. After returning to the present, Constantine left with a warning for Ray (Brandon Routh) to watch Sara. Mallus is after Sara and despite Constantine’s training, Sara could succumb to Mallus possession. I’m sure we will see Constantine again before season three ends.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs Monday on the CW!
