Matt Reeves confirmed day one of filming of The Batman, via Twitter. This is the first news we are receiving about the film since the cast was announced.  Talk about tight lipped.

The tweet doesn’t include any of the cast. In fact it doesn’t even offer up any set photos at all. The photo is of a marker indicating the first day of filming in a leather chair.  The title ‘The Batman‘ is printed in red. Is this the new logo? He also tagged cinematographer Greig Fraser.

The Batman spurred a Twitter craze when Robert Pattinson was announced to take over the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.  Since then, Reeves took it upon himself to announce the casting of Zoe Kravitz as Selena Kyle/Catwoman; Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth; Paul Dano as Edward Nigma/Riddler; Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin; Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon: and Peter Sarsgaard in an undisclosed role. John Tuturro rounds out the cast as Carmine Falcone.

The script is under tight wrap, like most of the film’s exclusives.  Let’s hope we get a look at Pattinson in the Batsuit soon.  Check out the photo below.

The Batman is scheduled to premiere on June 25, 2021.
