Jada Pinkett Smith is in talks to reprise her role as Niobe in the upcoming Matrix 4  film. Smith played the character Niobe in the second and third installments of the Matrix trilogy, The Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions. 

Casting news has been coming out fast in the last week. Today we reported that  Jessica Henwick of Iron Fist and Game of Thrones is in talks for the film. The buzz on Henwick is that director Lana Wachowski is looking for a female-like Neo character. Yesterday we found out that  Neil Patrick Harris had been cast in the film and last week, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

In the Matrix franchise, Jada Pinkett Smith’s Niobe is a skilled pilot from Zion in the real world. She skillfully pilots hovercraft and has performed feats on these ships that no one else has. She is also a gifted fighter in the virtual world of the Matrix. She didn’t believe in the prophecy of Neo but was willing to fight with him because she believed in Neo, himself. 

If talks are successful, Henwick joins Harris, Abdul-Mateen, Smith and Matrix trilogy stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann Moss Matrix 4

Not much is know about the film yet. We know that Lana Wachowski will be directing however her sister, Lily Wachowski, won’t be returning to co-direct on Matrix 4. Lana Wachowski is co-writing the script with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. Filming is set to start next year.
