It feels like years since Netflix first announced that it was working on Masters of the Universe: Revelation. And after getting bits of pieces here and there and a long cast list full of talented stars, we finally have our first look at the new series! And -you may want to take a seat- a release date! That’s right, guys. Finally, we get to see what the new series will look like and know when we can binge it! Netflix just keeps the gifts rolling.

The new animated series picks up after the war between He-Man (Chris Wood) and Skeletor (Mark Hamill) that left Eternia fractures and the GUardians and Grayskull scattered apart. Teela (Sarah Michelle Geller) becomes the universe’s only hope as she works to reunite that band of heroes, solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power and restore Eternia before everything comes to an end. Showrunner and Executive Producer (and one of my favorite people on the planet) Kevin Smith shared that fans of the original series can expect to revisit and dig deeper into some of the unsolved storylines.

For those who haven’t seen the original, Smith says not to worry. Masters of the Universe: Revelation is something anyone can just jump into. It’s a universal-action epic that dives into the ideas of growth, discovery, magic and power. There is more than enough to keep new viewers entertained without needed an entire history lesson on the original storyline. But my personal opinion – go watch it. It is amazing all on its own and we definitely plan to binge it before the new one releases.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation stars Wood, Hamill, Geller, Lena Headey (Evil-Lyn), Liam Cunningham (Man-At-Arms), Stephen Root (Cringer), Diedrich Bader (King Randor/Trap Jaw), Griffin Newman (Orko), Tiffany Smith (Andra), Henry Rollins (Tri-Klops), Alan Oppenheimer (Moss Man), Susan Eisenberg (Sorceress), Alicia Silverstone (Queen Marlena), Justin Long (Roboto), Jason Mewes (Stinkor), Phil LaMarr (He-Ro), Tony Todd (Scare Glow), Cree Summer (Priestess), Kevin Michael Richardson (Beast Man) and Kevin Conroy (Mer-Man).

Seriously having major nostalgia chills over here. It looks like we won’t have to wait long for this to hit Netflix! Masters of the Universe: Revelation will release its first part (a total of five 30 minute episodes) on July 23, 2021! Let the countdown begin! We have included all the first look images below to help hold you over until then. How excited are you? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
