Doctor Who fans, we’ve finally got a teaser trailer for “Revolution of the Daleks” and a release date! Said teaser is laden with Captain Jack (John Barrowman) aplenty, which is what the world needs now.

Additionally, we’re going to see the return of Chris Noth‘s Robertson in “Revolution of the Daleks.” He’s a big proponent of utilizing Daleks as defense drones. This teaser unveiled a modified design for one of the Doctor’s biggest foes. Jack introduces himself to the Doctor’s companions and reminds us all that he’s immortal. Yaz (Mandip Gill), Ryan (Tosin Cole) and Graham (Bradley Walsh) rally together to help save the world from another Dalek invasion. Meanwhile, the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) is toiling away in an alien prison. What’s intriguing about this teaser are the alien prisoners alongside the Doctor. There are weeping angels, Cybermen, the Silence and a Pting.

Now, I’m concerned about the execution of “Revolution of the Daleks.” This is a storyline we’ve seen previously on Doctor Who — Daleks overtaking the Earth while the Doctor is incapacitated. “Stolen Earth” from Season Four comes to mind. John Barrowman was also in that episode. While Jodie’s tenure has been less than stellar in my eyes, I’m excited to see Jack again. It’s worth noting that the visuals in the teaser look more polished. I hope we see more of the Doctor in the actual special than what was shown in the teaser.
