Runaways

If you couldn’t wait for more of the teenage heroes than you’re in luck! Hulu announced yesterday that Marvel’s Runaways will have a third season. The streaming service released a teaser featuring our favorite dinosaur to make the big announcement. Here’s what we know so far.

The teaser showed Old Lace seemingly receiving hundreds of text messages asking when season three would be announced. Or just begging for a third season. Poor Old Lace just wants some shut eye so she screeches out that we’re getting a third season so there can be peace again. According to Deadline, this quick and haphazard teaser may be due to the fact that actor James Marsters let it slip that another season was on the way. We also learned that the third season will be downgraded to 10 episodes, reverting back to the episode count of the first season. It’s also being speculated that the show is going to focus on the teenagers so the parents will be recurring characters.

Showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage expressed their excitement and also teased a little of what’s to come. “We are so excited to tell more Runaways stories and are so grateful to Marvel, Hulu, our amazing cast and crew and of course our passionate audience. Season three will be a magical time on Runaways, as we deepen our connection to the Marvel universe. We are honored to continue to play in the sandbox created by Brian K Vaughn and Adrian Alphona.”

It will be interesting to see what they mean when they say they’re going to deepen the connection to the Marvel universe. Could we be getting any cross over characters? We’ll have to wait and see.
