On Friday, November 3, 2023, the trailer for Marvel Studios’ Echo was released. The trailer foregrounds the relationship between returning characters Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) aka Echo, first introduced in Hawkeye, and her adoptive father Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), aka the Kingpin of Crime. Following the events of Hawkeye, Echo is pursued by the Kingpin’s criminal empire.  According to the official series description, “When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy.”

In addition to the return of Echo and Kingpin, Echo will also see the return of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), aka Daredevil. Both Daredevil and Kingpin debuted in the first season of Daredevil

Originally available for streaming on Netflix but now on Disney+, Daredevil kicked off Marvel Television’s Defenders shows. These were known for depicting graphic violence and gore. Echo looks to continue this tradition, with several gruesome hits in the trailer alone and it’s even garnered Marvel Studios first TV-MA rating. Let’s just say the guy who Echo throws through the “Make America Skate Again” wall in the trailer is probably going to be feeling it in the morning, you know?

Echo‘s cast also includes Zahn McClarnon, who reprises the role of Maya’s father. Rounding out the cast are Graham Greene, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs and Cody Lightning.

As noted by the press release, this makes it the first Marvel Studios streaming series to simultaneously debut all of its episodes. Will you be streaming the series when it arrives early next year?
