This is the second Ant-Man movie in the MCU and will take place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. This should explain why Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) missed out on all of the Thanos action.

There are no details about Janet Van Dyne’s return to the real world. We do know from the trailer that Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) entered the Quantum Realm to look for her and brought back a Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen). This time around, Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) jumps in on the action as the Wasp. Fans also get to meet Dr. Bill Foster (Laurence Fishburne), an old friend of Dr. Pym’s.

Here is the official synopsis from Marvel.com.

In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

Ant-Man and The Wasp premieres July 16 in theaters. Check out all of the posters below!
