Collider is reporting that Marvel has hired screenwriter Jade Bartlett to write Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel has not commented on the hire, however.

Bartlett does not (yet!) have many credits to her name according to IMDB but she gained attention with her script Miller’s Girl which was voted to the 2016 Black List of Hollywood’s best unproduced screenplays – this is a big deal. The script went on to get optioned with Seth Rogan’s company, Point Grey, producing.

According to Collider she is adapting Chloé Esposito‘s debut novel Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know. Jade Bartlett also wrote the most recent draft of the horror movie The Turning, starring Mackenzie Davis.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to release May 7, 2021.
