Guys, I think Sad Hulk is returning. On Facebook, actor Mark Ruffalo shared an image of his last day on set of Avengers: Infinity War and it gives us so many questions. Clearly a paparazzi photo, we see Ruffalo in his CGI suit but he’s carrying something. It’s something comically large for the average sized actor and we have to talk about it.
In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Hulk took a quinjet and soared into space, leaving the rest of the Avengers on Earth. We then saw in Thor: Ragnarok that he ended up a gladiator champion on Sakaar, only for him to accompany Thor’s escape. We don’t quite know just how much being Hulk for 2 years and living on Sakaar changed him, but we can only imagine that it’s a lot. Now he’ll be returning to Earth to join the Avengers in their fight against Thanos – but will he stay?
In the picture we can see that he’s carrying a bag on a stick, like what travelers of old would do when they took their belongings. It might be that he can’t stand to be around the Avengers anymore. So much has happened to not only the Hulk but Bruce Banner as well. His mental state must be shredded! And then for him to see his former flame, Natasha, again? That can’t be easy. And Banner has always been pretty self conscious so we can see just how easy it would be for him to walk away from them after the fight. And he does call it “the final exit”. But we’ll know for sure in a few months. And hey! Maybe it’s just a gag, given that Ruffalo’s face looks more amused than anything. If not, they best play “Lonely Man” while he’s walking away or we riot. Deal?
