Did you know they were making a movie about Maid Marian? Me neither! But Margot Robbie is set to star as the titular character. According to The Hollywood Reporter Sony will be releasing the Robin Hood inspired film, one of the many upcoming in the next few years.
According to THR, the film unfolds after the death of Robin Hood, the love of her life. The titular maiden then picks up his cause to lead her people into a pivotal war that will not only decide the fate of the kingdom, but also see her don the mantle of the man she loved. In the process, she rises as a legend herself. Interesting! While I think we’re all tired of Robin Hood projects, at least this is a unique spin on the story. In a world where women are still pushing for equal rights, there’s no better time for this. Currently, there is no release date for the film.
