March's Most Anticipated Video Games

As Spring starts to roll in, so does a new season of video games! From roguelikes to farming sims, March has plenty of titles we can’t wait to get our hands on! Here are GGA’s most anticipated game releases of this month.

Loop Hero

An evil Lich has thrown the world into a timeless loop and plunged the people into neverending chaos in Four Quarter’s Loop Hero. To fight back and save the world, players will need to use a magical deck of cards to place enemies, buildings, and terrain. This game offers a unique take on deckbuilding, roguelikes, tower defense games, and so much more. It promises infinite adventure as the deck, world, and even characters expand with each playthrough. And if that doesn’t sell it, the graphics are 8-bit, sending a nostalgia wave right into our hearts. I swear I will be telling myself, ‘just one more loop’ for weeks to come.

Loop Hero released on March 4, 2021, and available for PC through Steam and the Epic Game Store

Space Otter Charlie

It’s space. It’s otters. And it’s a side-scrolling platformer. This is all you need to know about this upcoming game from developer Wayward Distractions and publisher The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild. But Space Otter Charlie is not just about the misadventures of cute spacefaring otters: these otters are traversing the galaxy, searching for a new planet to call home. Throughout their journey, Charlie, Ada, and Jesse will explore derelict spaceships and stations, fight countless enemies, solve puzzles, and craft helpful items. Space Otter Charlie has all the makings of being a lighthearted, fun action game that will be a suitable distraction during these interesting times. I, for one, look forward to the incessant otter puns that I will be saying throughout my playthrough. There otter be a rule against it, but there will be no pawsing me once I get on a roll.

Space Otter Charlie will be available on March 18, 2021 for the PC through Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

Are you looking for a fun new farming game to dive into this March? Then look no further than Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town! In this latest installment of the Story of Seasons series, players will find themselves in the quaint frontier of Olive Town! Here you’ll be tasked with cultivating and building not only your farm but the town as well. Likewise, this game features expanded customization options, a new crafting system, and a town filled with over 200 unique events! And did we mention the 10 different marriage candidates you can date? I had a blast playing through Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town and am stoked for some more farming fun! If you are a Harvest Moon fan (like myself) or just looking for a simple game to get you in the Spring mood, definitely pick up this title.

Story of Season: Pioneers of Olive Town will release on March 23, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch

It Takes Two

From the minds behind and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out comes a brand new adventure co-op platformer game all about the power of love! In It Takes Two, players must work together to solve puzzles, fight enemies, and ultimately return Cody and May to their human forms. Trapped in this fantastic world, the two must overcome their differences and learn that two are stronger than one. Hazelight Studios is arguably the king of the co-op genre, and nothing brings folks together quite like playing a video game. Overall, I personally can’t wait to playthrough this title with my Significant Other this March!

It Takes Two will be available on March 28, 2021 for the PS4, Xbox One, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam.

Narita Boy

Narita Boy is a radical action-adventure in pixel form from Studio Koba. The legendary pixel hero is trapped within the world of the Digital Kingdom. This might seem like a simple game on the surface, but with one look behind the superficial exterior, there is a battle for the game’s very soul taking place within Narita Boy’s binary code. Players will need to discover the mystery behind the Techno Sword and uncover what is truly going on in this world. This is an epic adventure full of 80s nostalgia that is just waiting to be uncovered. Getting to experience such an in-depth game full of mystery and suspense while visually enjoying a game for our childhood is the perfect combination.

Narita Boy releases March 31, 2021 for PC through Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
