The hype around Star Trek: Picard is real. However, the need to budget our spending is also real. Is Star Trek: Picard worth the streaming cost of the CBS All Access service?

The new Star Trek series about our favorite Starfleet captain, Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) premiered last week to much love from fans and critics. The new series also broke CBS All Access’ subscriber records and garnered the biggest audience to stream a show on the service so far.

However, CBS All Access still wants more streamers to come to their service and they are going to use Star Trek: Picard to get them. For the next week, until February 5th and ONLY IN THE U.S., fans or curious viewers can watch the first episode of the new series on Youtube. And if fans out there are on the fence, this opportunity is for you. To make it easy, the episode is at the bottom of this post.

What we’ve seen from Star Trek: Picard so far is very intriguing. In the two episodes of this season so far, the theme of artificial intelligence and its place in the human world is explored. We also see a rift between Picard and Starfleet.

At the end of the 24th Century, and 14 years after his retirement from Starfleet, Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) is living a quiet life on his vineyard, Chateau Picard. When he is sought out by a mysterious young woman, Dahj (Isa Briones), in need of his help, he soon realizes she may have personal connections to his own past.
