At the end of last month, when I wrote out the comings and goings for September over at Netflix, I mentioned how we were unsure of the legitimacy of The Magic School Bus Rides Again because, aside from the list, there were no new promotional images or any indication that it really should be on the docket for a September release. Usually, when something this awesome is coming, we get inundated with information. Perhaps Netflix is underestimating the amount of nostalgia that this show brings?

Anyway, the trailer is finally here! The Miss Frizzle we all know and love, Ms. Valerie Frizzle (voiced by Lily Tomlin), hands the keys to Bus over to her younger sister, Ms. Fiona Felicity Frizzle (Kate McKinnon). The elder Frizzle is last seen on a moped, similarly magical as Bus, with what appears to be a pet Golden Lion Tamarin named Goldie – having passed Liz, the class pet chameleon, on to the younger Frizzle.

The Walkerville Elementary class appears to be in good hands with the same style of wacky field trips (including things “not on my permission slip”) as before. The theme song is slightly updated and the trailer pretty much follows the original show’s opening credits.
