It’s going to be a while before we find out what happens in the actual season 10 finale of The Walking Dead. AMC released a sneak peek of the opening minutes that features the return of Lauren Cohan as Maggie Rhee.
In the pseudo TWD finale, the Whisperers found Team Family held up in a hospital tower. They are surrounding the building, but not everyone is in the tower. Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Ezekiel (Khary Peyton), and Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) are on their way to Charleston, West Virginia to meet with Stephanie. Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Alden (Callan McAuliffe) are in the woods fighting off Whisperers and walkers. Things are looking bleak.
There are some interesting things that happen in this teaser. Virgil (Kevin Carroll) returns to Oceanside and is alarmed that the place is empty. Aaron and Alden finish off the Whisperers that found them in the woods, only to run into someone with a couple of cool blades and an awesome, iron mask. And then we see someone open a tin can and pull out a letter. The letter is from Carol (Melissa McBride). She starts out saying things at Hilltop are bad. Jesus is dead. Tara is dead and others. Then she tells her about the Whisperers. the reader is Maggie.
TWD also aired some teasers for Fear the Walking Dead, set to premiere this summer. And The Walking Dead: World Beyond, premiering later this year. At the end of episode fifteen, there was a regular trailer for the would-be finale. But this sneak peek is better. Watch both videos below.
We don’t know when The Walking Dead will return. But we will definitely keep you updated on all things TWD.
