There are still some big if’s, but if Patty Jenkins makes the next Wonder Woman movie, then there’s a possibility that the original (and some would say real, as in real-life) Wonder Woman  will appear on-screen! Lynda Carter confirmed to People Magazine that she’s talked about a role in the sequel– and that she and Jenkins had hoped to get her in the first movie!

Carter told People’s Julie Mazziotta: “We were trying to get me in the first one and we couldn’t make it work with our timing. (Whether I’m in the sequel) really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way it’ll be great fun and it’ll be wonderful to do… I ADORE Patty Jenkins, and it’ll be wonderful to do. But we’ll just see how that goes.”

She also said of the first Wonder Woman movie: “It certainly did inspire a lot of women. Women are coming out of the movie feeling emboldened, feeling good about themselves. Because that’s who we are. We are half the world, and we want to be represented as half the world.”

The full interview with my hero is in the July 24, 2017, issue of People. If you can’t wait to spot Lynda Carter in the Wonder Woman sequel, look for her in her recurring role as the President of the United States (I WISH) on Supergirl or playing with her band in Palm Springs and New York City this year!
