Just a few months ago, creator extraordinaire Rachel Smythe announced that her Eisner-nominated Webtoon series Lore Olympus was making the transition to a graphic novel. The first volume through Del Rey books will hit stores on October 5, 2021, and contain episodes 1-25 plus a brand new story that will be exclusive to the graphic novel.

Lore Olympus volume two will feature episodes 26-49. We aren’t sure if volume two will include an exclusive story, but I am hopeful Smythe will include one. I would also love to see if the series’ secondary characters will have their stories expanded upon as well. I guess we will have to wait until it is released to find out! We won’t have to wait long, though; volume two will release on February 1, 2022.
Smythe’s Lore Olympus has rocked the Webtoon community since its release in 2018. The series has amassed over 5.1 million subscribers who turn in every Sunday to keep up with the Persephone and Hades story. I, honestly, have yet to meet a Webtoon reader who hasn’t fallen in love with the story and Smythe’s art style.
Her contemporary retelling of The Taking of Persephone follows the Greek gods and goddesses as they navigate their lives, secrets, drama and forbidden love. While Hades and Persephone are the main characters, Smythe breathes life into all of the supporting cast. We get to see into the lives of Zeus and his household and even lesser-known deities.
Both volumes of Lore Olympus are available for pre-order on the official site. Are you ready to dive back into this beautiful tale of scandal, wild parties and love? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
