According to Deadline, Netflix is in talks with Longmire producers about reviving the much loved series for Season 4. Deadline also cautions that talks have been “tricky.”
Longmire, a fantastic and well written show based on the book series: Walt Longmire Mysteries, was surprisingly cancelled after three seasons. There was a lot of fan-screaming on the Internet after the announcement which got the attention of the folks at Netflix. The show (which happens to star Katee Sackhoff) was A&E’s best ranked show but, evidently Longmire skews old in their demographics. That fact hurts. It hurts so much. I guess I’m considered old. Thanks, Deadline.
About the show: Walt Longmire is the dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Widowed only a year, he is a man in psychic repair but buries his pain behind his brave face, unassuming grin and dry wit. The show stars Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips and Cassidy Freeman.
Let’s hope they get through negotiations. If Netflix gives the green light then we can have closure to the Longmire story much like Netflix gave to The Killing last year.
